Veteran's Day

 

 

 

 Date: November 11th, 2009

The Seaside Downtown Development Association is proud to announce the November 11th Flag Raising Ceremony at the Seaside Civic and Convention Center.

 

 The ceremony will promptly begin at 10:30am, Wednesday, November 11th in the lobby of the Seaside Civic and Convention Center.

 Mayor Don Larson will give a warm welcome to our guests and City Councilman Stubby Lyons will proceed with the ceremonial remarks. Representatives from the Seaside Elks Lodge 1748 and The Seaside American Legion Post 99 will honor our past veterans.

Seaside Elks Lodge 1748 has graciously provided the coffee and the Seaside Safeway Store will honor those whom served with a red, white and blue cake to be cut with a commemorative Marine Sword. Local Cub Scout Troop 540 has the honor of raising the Flag of the United States of America and the coveted Star Spangled Banner will be sung by Ashley Olson. 

After the raising of the flag, taps will be heard by a Seaside High School trumpeter. A commemorative cannon from Camp Rilea will shoot out over the Necanicum River off the 1st Ave Bridge at the Pearl Harbor Memory plaque in remembrance of the fallen Veterans.
